WHAT on earth has Gary Applegary been up to? I haven’t seen any updates for a little bit here.

Well, (insert lame excuse here) it HAS been a little bit busy; I’ve been writing, but not the sort of thing you’d be interested in. I’ve been writing lengthy appeals to CMS to get medical equipment payment denials reversed, explanations of how patient complaints have been resolved, and letters to patients asking them to allow me to act as their representative in appealing their preauthorization denials. I’ve also been handling medical record requests and insurance audits for the local Durable Medical Equipment provider I work for. No, I am NOT a lawyer. This is busy and tedious work, but rewarding if it actually results in our being able to help someone with their mobility. Speaking of which, let’s move on, shall we?

What can you expect to see on applegary.com VERY SOON?

1) A BRAND NEW STORY! “Vera Glum” will be in ‘Childrens’ Stories’ very soon! I started this story years ago, and it sat unfinished. And sat. More sitting. Etc. Yesterday, while I was sitting and having my regular IV medical treatment (every 8 wks), I had the unfinished draft of “Vera Glum” with me. I looked at it, and thought. And thought. (And sat.) And finally, I wrote! And I finished! According to my wife, and clearly-biased secretary, Anita Fajita, it is “the best story you’ve ever written. My favorite!” Wow! She likes it! I hope you’ll like it too. Watch for it to appear FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 24!
